How To Keep Your Dog Clean?
Dog owners adore their pets, but they also understand the effort required to keep the house clean with your pups. They are full of love, but they also bring dirt, debris, hair and fur into the home and cleaning and sanitising becomes part of your daily routine.
Keeping your dog healthy and clean not only makes your dog happy but also creates a clean and comfortable home.
Using a vacuum
Owning a dog or a cat means that you need to vacuum constantly. It’s not just pet hair, the dirt, leaves and debris collected by your dog when out playing also come into the house clinging to the paws and fur of your dog. An automatic or robotic vacuum that may be programmed for set schedules and can perform daily cleaning even when you are not in a mood to do so, or are running a busy life.
Keep and use stain remover
Even the most perfectly trained house-fed dog can have an issue when they have a stomach bug or ate something they shouldn’t have. In such situations, it is a good idea to keep some multi-purpose cleaner on hand to tackle all pet odours and stains from the house and the dog’s coat. Using biodegradable dog poop bags is another way to keep your pets and house litter free and to be a good dog owner when out in public. Dog waste bags should always be on hand to clean up after your dog when you are outside such as in the park, or at a relative’s home etc.
Use bed or sofa covers
A good preventive measure could be to throw a cover on your bed or sofa. Keeping a few bed sheets or sofa covers spare will help you to swap out as you clean the house. Doing this will not only protect your pet but also the furniture from dog hair or potential stains. When pet odours become too strong, the sheets can easily be thrown into the wash whenever a refresh is needed.
Contain the mess
One spot that is frequently messy in a pet lover’s home is around the food bowls. Placing a rimmed tray under the food dishes is a good way to catch some of the mess and allows for easy clean-up.
Wipe their paws
Doormats really help to keep their paws clean even if you can’t train them to wipe their feet. Placing a good quality doormat outside the door and a washable throw rug inside the door will help your pet to walk around with clean paws.
Give pedicures
Keeping your dog’s nail trimmed will save them from most of the unsightly nail damages that might occur during scratching. It will also protect your furniture such as leather upholstery, marred hardwood floors and punctured upholstery in the house.
Use pet wipes
In addition to large dog poop bags, keeping and using pet wipes when you are going outside with your pet will save you a lot of effort and help you maintain the cleanliness of your dog.
Loving your dog is by far the most important thing, however, keeping them clean and healthy is vital to enjoying your life with your pets.
