What to Consider When Shopping for a Backpack Vacuum Cleaner
What to Consider When Shopping for a Backpack Vacuum Cleaner
Cost.
With hundreds of backpack vacuums available, cost plays a major factor in choosing the product. Just because it is cheap doesn’t mean it’s a good purchase. Product quality should be thoroughly looked at. A backpack vacuum cleaner might be inexpensive but the costs of repair, return, or repurchase could be equal to the cost of high-quality equipment.
Weight.
Bulky, heavy, and large backpack vacuum cleaners are not advisable. Excessive weight of the the equipment can take its toll on cleaners and induce back pains. 10-11 lbs. is the recommended weight that is comfortable enough for cleaners to work with.
Shape.
The vacuum should be narrow enough in shape to allow staff to clean in small spaces. The shape of the backpack vacuum cleaner should not hinder the cleaner from vacuuming confined areas.
Harness.
The harness should be padded to provide extra comfort to housekeepers and to avoid chafing.
Usability.
The equipment should not be too complicated that will reduce productivity.
Quiet operation.
A backpack vacuum cleaner should be very quiet so as not to interrupt the operations of other departments.
Air filtration.
Since the main purpose of the backpack vacuum cleaner purchase is to assure the cleanliness of the work environment, the equipment should have multiple filtration systems that can clean up allergens and impurities.
