What Is Incontinence?
Incontinence is a term that describes any accident or involuntary loss of urine from the bladder, or bowel motion, faeces or wind from the bowel.
Incontinence is not just a problem for older people. It should not be considered normal. It can often be a sign of other health problems.
Approx. 4.8 million Australians have bladder weakness :
1 in 3 women
1 in 10 men
47% of Australians living in the community with urinary incontinence are under 50

Sometimes it can be cured and other times it can be managed better with the right advice or treatment.
It is a sign or symptom of an underlying cause.
